Mr. Weber has 40 years experience in the technology and aviation fields, as both a consultant and as a senior executive. He is a recognized expert in the application of advanced technology to the aerospace and airline industries. Mr. Weber's expertise is recognized through his membership on numerous committees, including the FAA's Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Committee, his chairmanship of the Aircraft & Airport Safety Research Subcommittee, and his membership on the TSA's Scientific Advisory Panel. Mr. Weber's clients include Homeland Security's HSARPA, the FAA, NASA, DOD, DOC, DOE, the Air Force Research Labs at Dayton Ohio, and Sandia Labs.
Mr. Weber's industry activities and his advisory role to the FAA have made him an expert in how the U.S. air traffic control system will evolve over the next decade. He remains active with committees that are dealing with the FAA's Joint Planning and Development Organization (JDPO) and the FAA's near-term Operational Evolution Plan (OEP).
Mr. Weber has over twenty years of experience working with senior FAA management. Some of his major projects include:
Development of advanced explosive detection systems
Adaptation of explosive technology to aviation security
Advising senior FAA management on aging aircraft, jet engine failure problems and continued airworthiness issues
Facilitating the rapid validation and deployment of new technology for maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft technology for inspecting aging aircraft, jet engines and aircraft made of advanced materials (composites)
Development of technology transfer capability, to prepare for future technology developments and implementation.
Mr. Weber's clients include airlines, airports, manufacturers, and industry trade groups in the United States and Europe.
Mr. Weber received a B.S. (Magna Cum Laude) in Mathematics from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. After completing graduate studies in theoretical solid-state physics at the Rhenish-Westphalian Institute of Technology in Aachen, Germany, where he received a Preliminary Diploma in Physics, he earned a M.A. in Nuclear Physics from San Diego State University in a joint program with the University of California at San Diego and General Atomics Corporation. Mr.Weber is President and owner of TECOP International and head of Weber Technologies Applications. He is native of West Germany, and became a U.S. citizen in 1971.
