Mr. Plickert has been an industry analyst for more than 30 years, initially as a financial analyst working with major U.S. investment firms, such as Merrill Lynch, E.F. Hutton, and Blyth Eastman Dillon, where he helped to determine the feasibility of underwriting securities issues for most of the U.S. and some international airlines, as well as the financing of new airlines. While at Blyth Eastman Dillon, Mr. Plickert also served as a financial consultant to the office of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation on economic issues facing the major U.S. international carriers. Before starting his own consulting and advisory firm, Greenwich Aviation Advisors, in 1991, he was a founding principal of The Transportation Group, an aviation investment banking company that specializes in aircraft lease financing arrangements around the world. At The Transportation Group, Mr. Plickert was one of the principals responsible for M&A and other financial advisory work for domestic U.S. and international airlines.
Mr. Plickert has performed advisory work on aviation issues for the Deutsche Bank Air Finance Group, Bayerische Landesbank, Credit Lyonnais, as well as U.S. investment banks and other financial institutions. He has been a consultant to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey during the planning phase of the new Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport and subsequently contributed another study on future demand for terminal capacity at JFK in the initial planning for the new Terminal 6 that will be built to accommodate JetBlue Airways as a principal tenant. He has also worked on alliance and airport issues for a major European flag carrier.
Mr. Plickert is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a past president of the Society of Airline Analysts. He is an honors graduate of Columbia University and has a Master's degree in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
