Mr. McMahon has over forty years of experience in the transportation industry serving in senior line and staff management positions with Chemical Bank, British Airways, Amtrak, RAW Equipment, and Terminal One Management.
He started his career with American Airlines, TWA, and Chemical Bank, where he progressed through the management ranks to a senior level before moving to British Airways.
As Senior Vice President - North America at British Airways he was responsible for reservations, sales, city ticket offices, all staff support functions, and the operations at 23 airports in North America.
In 1992 Mr. McMahon transferred his airline skills to Amtrak as Vice President - Passenger Services and a member of the Corporate Management Committee. He was instrumental in refocusing the railroad on customer service. After merging the passenger service and transportation departments into the Customer Service Division, he was elected Chief Executive Officer - Intercity Rail Service and President of Chicago Union Station in which roles he managed the financial restructuring of the long distance train company and oversaw the day to day operation of Union Station.
Mr. McMahon also served as Chief Executive Officer of RAW Equipment Corp., a distributor of concrete construction materials in the New York Metropolitan area.
His most recent position was Executive Director of Terminal One Management, a partnership of four international airlines (Air France, Lufthansa, Korean, and Japan Air Lines) that successfully constructed and now operates the $434 million, world-class international terminal complex at JFK. Mr. McMahon oversaw and directed the affairs of the partnership, including terminal completion and its operational startup, and the operations, administration, and marketing of the terminal.
Since retiring from Terminal One Management, Mr. McMahon has conducted a successful consulting practice and has teamed with ACA on engagements for the consortium that manages the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport, for a team analyzing certain operational aspects at Liberty Newark International Airport, and for a consortium that will operate a second international airport in Istanbul.
Mr. McMahon is a graduate of the Harvard University Advanced Management Program and earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Pace University. He serves on the Boards of St. Francis Prep High School and RAW Equipment Corp.
